All golf cart rentals from Top Shelf Carts are street legal, which allows you to spend more time exploring beautiful New Smyrna Beach and taking in some of our amazing local restaurants, art galleries, museums, and more!

In New Smyrna Beach, golf carts are allowed to be driven on public roads with a speed limit of 35 MPH or less.
Golf carts are not allowed to drive on A1A or U.S. 1 at all - this is only crossing at intersections.
If you are staying where you do not have access to a cross street that allows you to travel legally in a 35 MPH zone, you will need to park the cart in our parking lot free of charge overnight and drive your vehicle to your address.
New Smyrna Beach Police take driving the carts in an illegal manner very seriously and would hate to have your fun beach trip ruined with a ticket!

Driving and parking on the beach are permitted in designated areas throughout New Smyrna Beach.
Make sure to park on the seaward side of the conservation zone. Park either facing the ocean or backing into your spot toward the dunes.

Florida law requires the same rules apply to the kiddos in cars as they do in golf carts.
If a child requires a car seat or booster seat, they must also use one in a golf cart. The seats must be self-installed. Top Shelf Carts employees cannot install car seats or booster seats for you due to insurance liability reasons.
